www.cottonandcloud.com Episode 6 is all about Fair Isle knitting using two hands. In this episode (6.1), working on the knit row is shown as well as introducing a new colour to the row. For Continental knitting tutorial, please see Episode 4 (www.youtube.com For English knitting tutorial, please see Episode 5 (www.youtube.com The most important tip for a tidy Fair Isle knitting is to keep the tension even throughout. To do this, keep the floating strands at the back loose (but not sagging). Make sure to have one colour always on top of the other. This will prevent from tangling when unravelling the piece. Happy Knitting! Fair Isle = Stranded = Two Color = Jacqard
Sorry for the delay in uploading videos! In this video you’ll learn how to twist 2 colors so you’re able to alternate between the colors you need to use for knitting (while in the round). This technique is far easier than knitting English style with one hand and Continental with the other (and some other crazy ideas I’ve seen)!! Thanks so much for watching and subscribing! I hope this video is helpful to those who are learning to knit. In this video I show how to do a “long tail cast on”, how to “knit” and how to “purl”. NOTE: This is how I knit. Once you get comfortable with knitting you may change based on whats comfortable to you. Not all knitting is the same. It’s up to the knitter. Please comment below and let me know if this is helpful or if you have any suggestions. (voice sounds weird because I was behind my cameras microphone) Song: Carrie Underwood “Get Out Of This Town”.
Creating the knit stitch on a knitting loom (not to be confused with the e-wrap stitch). The knit stitch as shown in this video is the one that resembles the knit stitch created on knitting needles.
