Another use for Double Pointed Needles!

Sometimes your project doesn’t need as many stitches, and you end up using too long of a needle. How annoying! Well, take your spare DPNs and add a cap on each end and you now have, shorter straight needles! It is possible to find shorter straight needles at some stores but they might not be in the material you prefer (my preference is bamboo)…so to save yourself time and money (you could use small erasers as caps!) – take what you have and try this instead! How to Dye Wool Yarn with Kids

Kids pick out the best combinations of colors for your yarn dyeing projects! Knitting and crochet mamas can now have their kids choose the colors for their next project! How fun for your kids to choose the colors they want in their next wool sweater or winter hat. I used Jacquard dyes for these yarns – but you can use food coloring, Kool-Aid packets, or Wiltons cake dyes. My nephew Lukas (age 4) and niece Liliana (age 2) really enjoyed helping me dye this yarn for Madison Wool Yarn Shop in Madison, Connecticut. Remember to always supervise kids in the kitchen and teach them the safety rules of the stove so that everyone has a great time dyeing yarn together. This method also works for roving, locks, and any type of protein fiber (animal fiber).

How to knit

How to cast on and off is not included in this video. I am using 3mm width needles and I am using cotton yarn. I wouldn’t recommend using cotton yarn if you are a beginner because it is less stretchy than wool yarn. Thank you for watching and I hope you like it (: please support me by subscribing xx
